Route overview:

We set out from the Bargemans Rest, Newport.  The route goes through Seaclose onto the cycleway to Island Harbour, then onto the Folly.

We then head down into East Cowes, before heading along Alverstone Road to Wootton. The path past Quarr Abbey brings us out near Ryde golf course, before heading down to the seafront.

At 14 miles outside the cafe before Appley, you will be greeted by a welcome drink / food station to re-fuel.

The fun continues along the seafront and out to Seaview, before the Coastal Path takes you to The Priory and on to St Helens and then around Bembridge Harbour. Onwards now to Culver Down, Yaverland and then a flat finish along Sandown and Shanklin esplanades, finishing at the car park at Small Hope beach.

If continuing to Part 2 the following day, you might want to dip those legs in the sea!
